Accredited Travel Professional

Welcome to the April issue of the
Accredited Travel Professional newsletter

April 2010

New & renewed Members!

Virgin Holidays LogoOver the past few months we've had quite an influx of new and renewed members to ATP.

In March, Virgin Holidays held an ATP awareness day to promote ATP within the organisation.

The Co-operative Travel also had an ATP focus at their Quarterly Review Meeting in April.

We'd like to welcome all our new and renewed members to ATP.

ATP Member of the Month competition

Trophy Image: www.lumaxart.comFrom May, ATP will be launching a new Member of the Month competition for our Members.

Each month, we'll celebrate the Member who has the most validated CPD claims for that month. We'll give them a short travel and training questionnaire to complete so you can get to know them a bit better and they will receive a certificate for their efforts. Would you like to be known for your dedication to both training and the travel industry? Start logging those points!

New training area on ABTA website

ABTA LogoABTA has a new training area on its website: http://www.abta.com/resources/training
In this section, you can find links to the ABTA training courses (All About ABTA, Every Child, Everywhere and Make Travel Greener) as well as training provided by their Travel Industry Partners.

Travel Uni Blog of the Month

Travel Uni LogoWe have a new Blog of the Month winner from Travel Uni!
Emma Sanger, from Future Travel, is this month's winner. Congratulations Emma, and thank you for taking the time to write in. We'll be sending out a bottle of bubbly to you shortly.

Would you like the chance to have your blog published and have a nice bottle of champagne sent out to you by way of thanks? A bottle could be heading your way very soon if you tell them about a training related event in which you've been involved lately. Have you been on a fam trip? A training course? A roadshow? Or perhaps something has helped spark some bright ideas about how you might improve your agency's business. Send your blog to jo.preocanin@traveluni.com with the title ATP/Travel Uni Blog of the Month.

TIPTO training update

Tipto LogoTIPTO, the Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation, has revamped its online training modules.

The three-stage programmes begin with an overview of each operator's key information and unique selling points, followed by a downloadable presentation providing greater detail on the company's product range.

Finally, there's an online test, with agents needing to score 80 per cent or higher in order to complete each module and receive a TIPTO certificate.

The first 10 agents to complete all 16 operator modules will win a TIPTO goody bag, with fun prizes donated by member operators.

It also has roadshows on the following dates:

  • Ipswich - 18 May
  • Bedford - 19 May
  • Torquay - 26 May
  • Bristol - 27 May
  • Harrogate - 08 June
  • Gateshead - 09 June
TIPTO Roadshows are free of charge to attend and are exclusively for independent agents. For more information on the training modules and upcoming roadshows, go to www.tipto.co.uk. Both the training modules and attendance at the roadshows are worth points through ATP.
