Marriott Hotel Training gains Accreditation
Marriott International is the latest organisation to have its agent training accredited by the Accredited Travel Professional Scheme. Agents can earn 14 points for the
Hotel Excellence! training which covers generic lodging sales information and 16 points for the Meetings Excellence! which is the most comprehensive training in the hotel industry for group meeting professionals. Gina Turnbull - Director Intermediary Sales at Marriott said "Marriott Hotels are keen supporters of continuous professional development and we are thrilled that our agent training can now help agents earn points on the Accredited Travel Professional Scheme." Marriott International recently announced their new global Love Travel Agents campaign designed to celebrate and build awareness of the travel agency community and its partners. The new Love Travel Agents campaign includes elements designed to help educate Marriott's hotel sales teams on how to maximize the travel agent relationship through virtual tutorials and training sessions, town hall meetings with local travel agent partners and Marriott executives, and partnerships with internationally recognised travel agent associations.
Springboard Awards for Excellence
A reminder that you have until 13 October to enter the Springboard Awards for Excellence. ABTA are sponsoring the Best Employer - Travel and Tourism Award for the 3rd year. ANTOR join forces with OTT
The Association of National Tourist Offices & Representatives (ANTOR) has named Online Travel Training (OTT) as it's exclusive training provider and will be launching a dedicated e-learning programme through OTT to highlight the work of its members.
ANTOR is the collective of 70+ Tourist Boards based in the United Kingdom to promote overseas travel to the UK public, media and trade. OTT has seen huge growth in the last year are now the webs largest travel training provider with over 50 travel agent courses available to over 24,000 members. ANTOR join Advantage Travel Centres, GTMC & Lufthansa City Centre (Germany) as exclusive training partners of OTT.

ATP points at World Travel Market
A reminder that members can earn Accredited Travel Professional (ATP) points for attending WTM and its conference and seminar sessions.
Agents earn two points for attending WTM and a further one point for every conference and seminar session they attend. Members can earn a further six ATP points by attending the ITT’s Skill Zone Programme, which is made up of three sessions. The three sessions are: - Maximising Earnings - Two ATP Points
- Dealing with Customers - Two ATP Points
- Selling During a Recession (organised in association with Training For Travel) - Two ATP Points
