We also reward this personal development by offering a wide range of discounts through People Value. Make sure you are using these discounts - it doesn't make sense not to! You can save money on your grocery shopping, clothing, electrical goods, luxury goods, gifts, experiences, toys, etc. This is all included in your ATP membership so please make sure you don't forget about it. ATP members also qualify for a 10% discount on a number of ABTA seminars. If you have any trouble using your discounts please refer to the "Using your benefits" guide under benefits in the members area of the website. Train your way out of the economic downturn!
Training for Travel
Travel industry training specialists, Training for Travel, say they have the perfect compromise to help employers train their way safely through the economic downturn. "Training like ours is totally free to employers because we're Government funded, so companies can work with us to meet the Leitch report target of getting everyone to Level 2 and develop a skilled, qualified work force, without it costing them a penny" explained Sally Makin, Business Development Manager. "We find that training our candidates to gain nationally recognised qualifications, motivates them and makes them feel valued employees and research has shown that those who are on these programmes of learning increase sales by an average of 17%, whilst retention is at an average of 75%, 15% above the industry average." Bubbles and Rising Stars with Travel Uni
TravelUni
Fancy some champagne? A bottle could be heading your way very soon if you tell us about a training related event in which you've been involved lately. Have you been on a fam trip? A training course? A roadshow? Or perhaps something has helped spark some bright ideas about how you might improve your agency's business. All you have to do is tell us in under 250 words and this will be added to the new ABTA ATP site. Each month, the best blog will be awarded a bottle of sparkling champagne. What better way to forget about the economic doom and despondency that's everywhere right now. So, sit down in front of that keyboard, tell us about your learning experiences and send you 250 words (maximum) to Sally.Oakey@traveluni.com

Rising Stars - Agents on a training mission
To celebrate the exciting launch of a new joint-venture training initiative, Selling Long Haul and Travel Uni have pledged to sponsor five agents through a year of accredited professional development.

Travel Uni are underwriting the £25 membership fee to the Accredited Travel Professional scheme for five agents who want to stay ahead through proactive personal development.

Two agents, Francesca Woodbridge, and Samantha Marsden have already been selected for sponsorship but Travel Uni are still looking for three more so if you would like to be a part of this initiative contact Travel Uni associate director, Sally Oakey on sally.oakey@bmipublications.com.
